Howdy, new to the 1/5 scale, been running 1/10 for years and love this sport!
Picked up a baja, Trevor Simpson motor, yadda yadda. For a quick drive I swapped over a receiver from my revo and all is well except..... Pulling the trigger engages the brake and opposite of trigger is gas. This is backwards and am not sure why. Steering works correctly. Any clues? I'm going to wreck this beast simply because the gas/brake combo is backwards.

Do not know much about a Traxxas radio other then you cannot use a remote kill switch with it and in my opinion is mandatory for a heavy large vehicle like 1/5 which during a run away can be a BIG liability. Most radios have a way to reverse the servos.

go into your radio settings and reverse the throttle setting, i think its channel 2

Now to the obvious mind it seems like the setting needs reversing like stated, I just don't see why it would. Is it possible I plugged the servo into the receiver backwards? I'll have to find the program manual online for programming the remote, I forgot how.

No you cannot plug the servo in backwards and have it work, the signal and power wires will be oriented wrong. I also have a Revo and think the answer is because of the way the servo arm sits in the vehicle, it is basically working backwards from the way it works in the Revo. Take the servo horn off, flip the servo reverse switch and then put the servo horn back on, should work just fine.

Serve reverse switch, is this an actual switch I'll see? I freaking love this truck, the cdi pipe, Trevor Simpson motor, I can tell I have a lot of learning to do. In all reality, should I look into upgrading remOte/receiver? I agree about needing a kill switch, this truck is a 50lb missle! I'm sure there is a write up for this but as mentioned prior, this isnt possible with the current 2.4ghz traxxas remote?

+1 on Baja Matt.
Dip switch 1 is steering, 2 is throttle brake.
Set your failsafe on at least 1/2 brake.
Must get a remote kill switch to limit runaways - 40mph 12-18kg machines these!!
Consider radio options.
I've Spektrum and have little problems - great so far for me, but MANY simply HATE SPEKTRUM.
Best safe option is a Futaba 2.4GHz, 3PL or similar.

ok i think i follow. remove the servo horn, press reverse on the remote which will move the servo, hold in place and re-apply servo horn?

got it, found the settings to reverse settings on controller and bingo. brakes need adjusting now, way to soft.

Yup remove the horn, rev the servo apply the horn then subtrim to 90 degree should be right to go

Setting on this controller which you count blinking lights that indicates which setting your a out to adjust is horrible, i need visible letters !!
