I have a running problem I can,t figure out. A new km 5 b less than 6 months old came with a 668 carb, it ran fair. ( hard to fine tune) so I bought a new walbro 990.and put on a new aluminum insulator with Teflon gaskets. It ran great for a couple of weeks and out of the blue it runs crappy. I can,t tune and find the sweet spot. I have spark, it starts , it runs. I started at factory settings but it wants to bog out and any adjustments don,t seem to help. I use castor 990' 25/1 mix and it has a silenced tuned pipe. And I noticed a little fuel in the air filter housing, is this a ring problem? I,m open for any ideas. Thanks

sounds like u are chasing a air leak,, check to make sure carb is tight,,, some engine builders don't like the aluminum intakes with Teflon gaskets cause they are hard to keep tight and leak and they throw them away and use stock Zenoah with gaskets,,, I haven't had a problem with my ada one, but I torgued it with a torque wrench,,, bit over tight I think,, so the gaskets squished down nicely, start it up and spray a little carb cleaner, or brake clean slowly around the intake , carb,, if engine is sucking air somewhere,,, , engine rpm will change,,

That sounds like a plan, I,ll go with stock gaskets and reseal again, and hope for the best. Thanks again

I agree with Xscrick-check all of the carb-pull of the bowl on the bottom of the carb-clean with brake cleaner or carb cleaner(nothin that leaves residue)Make sure screen is clear. If that's not working right,It's gonna keep dumping fuel.Don't forget to go over head bolts. With it expanding and retracting ( hot-n-cold) you might have an leak there.Check your pipe, make sure it's flowing. With it being silenced ,it has less of flow-luck to ya-"""""""Patience""""""""you'll gett'errrrrr

I found out my motor is a hy motor, which they are not to good but oh we'll. I put in a new ring and every gasket, except crank gasket, and she will fire and seems to run fairly well, not up to what it should be. I resprayed everything with carb cleaner cleaner to check for leaks and everything good so far. I,m going to play with it for now. I,m going to get a zenoah from ddm , I,m tired of working on it,I just want to play. Good luck on yours.

I ordered a Zen G320RC from Daves yesterday. I feel the same way, I'm tired of making it run I just want it to run. I knew this going into a King Motor buggy so I'm not mad or anything, you get what you pay for. I feel that the servo upgrades, Radio upgrade, Killer Bee cut off switch, Killer Bee 4200 lipo battery pack, V2 Dominator pipe, Hostile tires front and back and now the Zen G320 RC it should be up to par with the more high line units that start out spending way more money without all of these mods. I know I'll never be done, but this should last me for a while without major failures.

A quick update. I got a 290 from dave,s and what a difference, I can go out and run this buggy. It feels so good just to play with it. I still look at the old engine sitting on the bench and just wonder why.. But I,m happy now. Thanks for all the help.

The KM engines used to wear out after ,say a gallon through them. They would run fine and then run really crap.I bought a KM and near as soon as I got it put a Zen in it and never had a problem. You get what you pay for!

I'm running the G320RC now and WOW, what a difference, night and day. I installed the V2 Dominator pipe and I'm running the stock 6000 rpm clutch so far with great low end punch and plenty of top end speed. As soon as this motor started I could hear a difference from the KM. The 290 with the pipe from Daves is a hell of a deal, but I already had the pipe so that's why I opted for the 320.
