Should I change pinion?

The 48T big diff gear (FG6048) that is on it, is stock. But I bought this FG together with a 16T pinion gear, meanwhile the stock pinion (FG 6046) is only 14T. Is this the explanation for the strange sound that I have when turning the car, and not being able to have a perfect mesh?

the fg mt is as far as i recall 16/48 or 18/46 fella,
the gears should always add up to 64 teeth for the right mesh cos its a fixed carrier ,
so a 14t pinion with a 48t spur is 2 teeth too small and yer mesh will be way off,
