I need a bit of help here.I have a Spektrum DX3s and need a few receivers. I don't really want to pay Spektrum prices so I was wondering is there any after market receivers that will match the DSM frequency or will a DSM2 receiver bind with the radio?
Cheers
James

you would have to change your radio James to the "R" for DSM2.....then you

can use the cheap orange receivers ;)

Taken from the DX3 Manual

Two frame rates are available: F and N.
F = Fast (11ms)
N = Normal (16.5ms)
While most servos are compatible with the fast frame rate, some older analog servos require
the use of the slower normal frame rate.
Accessing the Frame Rate Function
1. Press the
SCROLL
and
CHANNEL
keys at the same time and hold.
2. Turn on the transmitter power switch to enter the System Mode.
3. Press the
SCROLL
key until FRM appears on the screen.
4. Press the
INCREASE
or
DECREASE
key to select the desired frame rate (N or F).
5. Press the
SCROLL
key to access the Auxiliary Channel 3 function.
6. To exit the System Mode, either turn the transmitter power switch off or press the
SCROLL
and
CHANNEL
keys at the same time.

Thanks for the reply.I must read up on it sometime(Note to self...don't do the typical man thing and lash the manual in the bottom draw):eek:

just remember James your dxs3 is the older model before the software upgrade

for DSM® (compatible with marine and DSM2® surface receivers too)

k....

Cheers K,how would I tell if its the older version of software?:rolleyes:

I have dealt with spektrum and horizon hobby before they have good customer service and reasonable rates for repair. It's worth a call to see if they can upgrade the software. I had an antenna replaced and it only cost me $15 + shipping.
