Are the screws that come default steel? I read some bad things on the HPI / other forums about RC kits and stainless being soft. Everyone raves about Tony's screws, but they only make 5b/5t sets.

I'm thinking about going and sitting in the ACE hardware metric section and just go through the XT manual screw by screw lol.

you could always use the silverware polish on them to and make them shine, haha yes no rust is awesome!

I have 2 of the RCscrewz screw kits for the XB-E, both have a few missing screws/nuts in them. So be prepared to not have everything ya need.

I've never had good luck with stainless screws, used them on my savage, LST, etc and the heads would either break off or I would strip them.

Now I use 12.9 armor plated screws from hexcrews. These things seem bulletproof so far, you can get a wicked torque on them and not worry about stripping them out.

Stainless screws are fine as long as you use quality tools, I have yet to strip one after upgrading to some good quality drivers. Grade 12.9s are obviously a harder and longer lasting screw, but the corrosion resistance is what I am after. I despise rust on my RCs.
