Never used to believe people, but there is an increasing number of pathetically incompetent drivers on the roads at weekends!!

Coming out of Liverpool on Edge Lane, towards the Rocket 'start' of the M62, one section has the 3rd lane disappear, with arrows telling occupants to filter into the middle lane, where I was, which is described in the Highway Code as 'when able', and of course to indicate.

Some incompetant moron in a black 62 reg DS4 pulls alongside in this lane, me doing an indicated 32 in a 30, then without indicating simply starts moving into me ... fortunately I'm always using mirrors and knew I had space, so braked to let this Sunday Pratt in.

Considering I had wife and 2 children on board, I wasn't the best pleased, so I did 'vent' without incident.
Also came across the usual 50mph in the middle laners on the Motorway, with the inside clear ...

Increasingly prefer to circulate during the week, more packed or not, with people regularly driving.
Other thoughts?
Other experiences?

They don't just come out at weekend mate! I know exactly where you mean when the DS4 driver cut you up. There is a similar scenario at the end of the M602 and it happens on a daily basis. With the miles I do in a year I see some right tossers and on the motorways I would say merc drivers are taking over from BMW drivers in terms of lane hogging, cutting you up, no indication, tailgating etc etc. Amongst the best of late seem to be Porsche drivers.

Another motorway gripe, all the wankers who leave it to the last minute to get in lane to leave the motorway then expect you to just let them in at the last minute whne they feel like it. Its particularly busy at the M62 / M66 junction at 5pm and this happens everyday. I don't see why I should wait my turn then let some inconsiderate tosser in so I make sure I close right up when I see them approaching!

I have spent quite a lot of time in London of late and cyclists and scooters are an absolute nightmare! They cut you up from all sides then wonder why they get knocked off!

I know where you mean as well - been through there a few times in the last few years.

I remember once, when the A55 'North Wales Coast Road' was 2-way traffic with occasional dual carriageways, and 2 lanes up, 1 down the hilly bits, when the dual carriageway parts were being built, and commissioned, there were loads of late 'turners in' then one time, an unmarked Police car pulled more or less alongside me, with LOADS of room ahead in the outer lane that was closing and simply moved with the traffic, forcing people to be more considerate to 'those who had moved over earlier' - certainly made me chuckle!!
That was 25+ years ago.
That last minute turn in is so common, yet so dangerous. It is possible for 'an occasional oversight' I admit, but most who do that once, do it every time.

ONE MORE FAVOURITE RANT!!
Speed Cameras - revenue services, etc.
These are DANGEROUS!!
How many times have you been 'safely trailing' a car, not too close, not too far behind, for them to slam on, with an open road, only because there's a camera? 'Kin' dangerous.
The other thing - cannot overtake on country lanes for fear of exceeding the speed limit during the 'safe overtake'. Highway Code always said to accelerate firmly to overtake in the first safe place possible then pull in again, but if you do that now, you'll probably exceed 60mph to get past a caravan travelling at 45mph, before slowing for the next corner.
No wonder traffic is so processional!!

Thats why I always leave home at 4am. Yes its an early start but I would rather do that and have clear roads than set off an hr later and be sat in a jam with idiots doing most of the above!

i do not miss driving in the UK, it's retarded..used to take me 45min in morning to do 20miles on the A14 at 6am and coming home any accident would mean a 3hr drive i knew all the back roads but they'd become jammed too. and of course 90% of the accidents are caused by the very people you talk of

best way to deal with tossers cutting in is keep going ...they will either have to hit you and damage their cock mobile, or stop..
it's pretty easy to force people to miss their junction when they try and cut across, i used to match their speed and look straight at them and smile
