I bought my FG Stadium used, and it came with the 2 speed installed. But, I found out that single speed is better for off road use. Basically, i have everything installed and working properly on my current set-up. So what do i need to switch it back to single speed? Assuming i have the spur and pinion for a single speed ready.

thanks

Sid

Just need an aluminum gear carrier. The plastic ones just end up stripping when the layaway shaft heats up.

I have 2 new ones that where made with a CNC machine. Much stronger than the FG ones if anyone is interested.

Keep the 2 gears! you can lock the second gear (turn the 2nd gear adjustment screw to the right till it lock) when you only want to use the first/single gear.

Depends on what you want to run? With both the 2 speed and the single speed I like to run all metal gearing so I can stop changing out the plastic gears. Some like plastic because there is a weak link.
I would try something like this:
Alloy carrier that will allow you to fasten a 48 tooth gear to it:
CNR6050ST - Crazy Nut Racing alloy carrier.

Metal pinion:
FG6431 or for that matter use a http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHTV9&P=Z
If you need a spur shaft use:

P.S> Sorry I forgot about answering this.
