Temp gauge ?

Does anyone use a temp gauge/gun for tuning like in nitro engines ?

Nope. Engine temps aren't that important. Every engine will run at a different temp. Your plug color is more important.

What is a good plug color to be looking for ?

I use one but I don't tune by it. It is just a safeguard when running on one of those 118deg days.

You are looking for a brown paper bag color.

Wow,thanks for the great info ! It doesn't quite get that hot in MN. But when I lived in TX we had some hot ones.

There is no "too lean" example on that chart.

I posted it more for the "perfect" spark plug color. As it's specifically for two stroke engines. The NGK plug guide is for four stroke engines.

I gotch ya, it seems to show all problems but too lean.
