that makes sense sucking dirt past the choke. i didn't thinkof that...thanks... I live in NY and a choke helps start cold...
 
i also live where old man winter visits but have found that one little shot of quick start or cold start or whatever it's called in your neck of the woods will do wonders when trying to start a motor with a 990 carb. some people would say this is not a good way to start our little engines but i have two with 990's that i start like this every time and as of yet haven't had a problem. both motors have esp top ends and normally start on second or third pull. i don't drown them with the stuff just one little quick shot.
