Hello all,

Ordering a Baja SS :)

I am familiar with the requirements of my nitro mt for a throttle servo, just wondering what some economical suggestions were for the Baja, at least somewhere to start.

Thanks in advance.

ya the 645 is pretty fair servo for the cost. a bit slow for my flavor. a jr 650mg would do ok as well. but for your moneys worth, expect to throw around 80.00 and more at a good quality servo. im running a JR Z9000T (115.00) on mine.

i still have my stock t/b servo and its in great working order at 2 yrs old. (the orig burnt out on a long failsafe, but hpi replaced it under warrenty in july of 06,

Keep trying still doesn't make sense how two went out? I could understand if failsafe is stuck on for some time but a minute or two? Make sure to check your failsafe and make sure its not cranking major on the brakes - All you need is enough to idle and come to a stop.:)

with the new one, it just about took off on me at start up but i used the throtle time but i think i had it to far down cuz it killed after leaving it for like 2 min after looking why the stearing was messed up... y i didn't shut it off is beyond me but i need to adjust my throtle

this is good for me, cuz i am learning up about these little (or actually rather BIG) bajas... i want to get one soon, but i don't know how well that will go...
thanks!!

timm what about the hitec 5955
that is what i am running works great.
when you set the fail safe set it to have the tb servo go to idle position when the fail safe kicks in.
than if you leave the rx on you won't burn up a servo and if you are running and the failsafe kicks in it will go to idle and roll to a stop.
beats burning up a 110.00 servo.

Dirby, that servo you're running is more than twice as powerful than the 645mg and is faster - you must be having a blast! Personally, I find the 645mg is sufficient, for now. I suppose if ever I was to want to race I'd upgrade for more speed, but more power seems a bit excessive since I can easily lock up the wheels with the silicone tube+extra break pad mod.

As for the failsafe position, I prefer a bit of brakes just to ensure some stopping when it kicks in, but not to make the servo force too hard.
