Its nice to know that that the tutorials are helpful.
Here is another tutorial on the diff I just did. Its for the SS Dif but they are close to the same in build. I will be doing one on the Turtle Diff later next week.

Just a word for people doing a Turtle diff saver on the SS.
The washers that come with the SS that go inside the Diff that look like a star (Watch the video) are not compatible with the Plastic diff case, or the TR diff saver. You will need to use the washers that come with the RTR and not the SS.

Here is another tutorial on building the transmission.
It includes installing the missing bearing in the RTR.

I opened the manual up looked at the pics and thought "screw this". Why look at this manual when someone has posted pictures and easy to follow instructions. :)

Check and see if USABaja will footnote or asterisk what you explained below somewhere in your current article. I think it will be helpful to the SS owners!

Oh yeah, glad you had the missing bearing part on there as well. I put one in and also replaced the bushings in the tranny with bearings!

Eddy, can the gears on the RTR tutorial be assembled the same way you did it in the SS video?Your way looked much easier, especailly when inserting the crosspins with the flats:)

Yes, Essentially they are the same minus the metal case and the star washers.
I used to try to build the gears outside the case and drop them in LMAO @ Me!

Another useful tip is to lightly coat everything with diff fluid first. Holds the gears in and the washer to the cage so everything stays put as your building the puzzle.

Glad to know you found it useful.

FastEddy, great tutorial on the installation of the Turtle Racing diff housing! Nothing better than being able to go to the workbench and bring it up on the laptop while I work. (https://www.largescaleforums.com/hpi-baja-5b/turtle-racing-diff-housing-installation-tutorial/)

Turtle Racing, awesome diff housing! I finally installed it. I was going to wait for the cast piece from HPI, but yours has been raved about so much I picked one up! Very nice!

Did mine last night as well. Made life way easier! Thank you...

I just finished this up last night.
Video tutorial: Building the Turtle Racing Diff Saver with Team FastEddy Bearings

There are 2 other SS parts compatibility issues using the SS Parts for a total of 3.

1- Need RTR washers on the inside of the diff. Need to get (1 set) HPI 87461
2- Need to use the RTR diff half gasket that comes with the TR diff saver. (The SS case gasket is larger)
3- Need to use the 4 case screws that come with The TR Diff saver. (SS screws are shorter.

And a side note: don't use the 4 metal lock washers on the screws in #3
