I can't be the only one wanting to run these on other RC's. I haven't been able to find the exact answer yet but has anyone ran these on 2s or 3S?

Orange LED Whip Light w/ Flex-Tech Mount

I did see "(requires #6588X accessory power supply)"

Regulated Accessory Power Supply w/ Power Tap

Aint no way those LED's only handle 3V. They are way to bright from what i have seen on YT vids to only be running 3v.

How about just using something like this just to run the whip lights. Simple and cheap way to get three volts.View attachment 108950
Thank you and very true but i would like to control them from my TX and run them off at least 2S.

I ordered one that should be here over the weekend. I'll try it on 2S and if it lets the smoke out i'll let everyone know.

They are 3v like most LED's out there. The whip has the LED only, the brightness comes from the current they are built for.
You need a regulator to step the voltage down. If you give it 7.4v directly it will shine brightly for a second and burn out. You can use any regulator that will do 3v 3amps. Look for input of 7.4v or more.

You definitely need a regulator. Some leds can handle 6v, if those say they are 3v then I would get a regulator that has a 3v output. MytrickRC has some that plug right in to the receiver, that brand has worked well for me.

I bought the Traxxas power supply thing. The single most thing i hate in the RC hobby is proprietary stuff. See pics and Traxxas note. To me it reads like you must use an ESC for input power and since this is a Traxxas product, a Traxxas ESC. Traxxas is the size they are for a reason i guess. That is 100% false as i plugged it into a 3S battery and it works. The LED whip is cool and all but it is 3V bright. Since i have one and and the power accessory I'll pick up another LED Whip but i won't be outfitting the other 5 RC's i wanted to put these on as it is just too expensive. Good job Traxxas.

As an FYI i plugged the LED whip into a fully charged 18560 battery 3.7v and and discharged 18560 3.4v it neither worked. I am not a electrician to know why so all i can say is that it is very sensitive to the voltage input.
