Im after some help to put a reed case in my Redcat because of the design of the case there is a bolt that touches the centre drive shaft.I have done some reading over the last couple of days to find out what i can do. Some guys just remove the bolt and dremel a notch out of the case where the shaft is running to make clearance. I have seen this mod on MCD Can or does anyone have some more info on this mod i don't want to make a notch in the case if it does not work. Thanks.:)

I don't think you need to on the rampage,i think if im correct there is enough room,on the mcd the motor sits lower to the frame thats why there is a need for the case modd.

I just took the stock motor out and dropped the the reed case in there and it does hit the drive shaft. It's where the lower center bolt goes through the case. Not so sure about removing an entire bolt from my case. Going to do some measuring tomorrow. Looks like the motor needs to go down about another 1/2 inch or so.

It will fit for sure yes you will need to make a notch in the case. But i was able to leave the crank case bolt in there it will need to go extremely close to the bolt to give it that little bit of extra clearance. Just take your time and trial fit a few times. Started up an sounds sweet.IMG_1008.webp

That wasn't to bad. Does get really really close to the screw, but much better than just removing that bolt all together.

Glad to hear you had some success. It is a bonus that we can leave than bolt in there to keep a good seal. It's not a hard mod just need to be careful.

Thanks it's starts easy but just haven't had time to take it out to run just to busy close to Xmas. It will definitely get some use in the next few weeks though. Can't wait.
