Hello everyone. Im looking for a nice onroad pipe for an FG sportline. It the will be strictly used for top end runs. I currently have a stock 23 but plan on upgrading to a 27.2 just as soon as it gets here. Ive been searching for a pipe but seem to get mixed reviews depending on who I talk to. Ive been recommended the Jetpro pipes (side and front), the big power pipe and some sambas. Price is really not an issue but I don't want to spend an extra 300 for a pipe thats going to do the same for the 300 less. If anyone out there has any suggestions on a nice one, let me know.

i hear that Samba is the onroad pipe to have, im unsure of what model is the Top RPM pipe though. i have a few Efra (italian made) pipes on my Bergonzoni, so that don't help you much. sorry.

keep in mind the 27.2 has a 2mm stroker crank that will produce alot of torque,( more than what is typically needed for onroad and will likely result in copious amounts of wheel sping) and in most cases cut a bit of the top rpms off. takes longer for that 2mm crank to complete a revolution than the stock 28mm crank does. so that equals, Usually, les top rpm and lest top rpm means slower.

imho, i d say get that 23 worked on, ported, add a reed cage, ect. or just get the ESP Zen260 motor from DDM. If your really froggy, you can get the Trevor Simpson Reed Case, and put a stock crank in it, with high end bearings, and a reed ported Zen 260 topend, and you ll likly have hella top rpm, and with the right pipe, that sucker should nearly fly.

Hello everyone. Im looking for a nice onroad pipe for an FG sportline.

Though I currently do not own a Samba, the recommendations I have seen on certain German and US forums has been Samba or Mielke. You can find some examples of some rather fine pipes here, this site is expensive for some parts, but Frank is a really cool guy and always helps, so I will pay a few dollars extra for that service.

Anyhow, those two manufacturers seem to be the top of the pile. Especially if you are looking for a pipe that meets IFMAR regulations, the Samba 5 or perhaps even the 3 are real nice pipes for a Sportline.
