it sat for several years this past spring was brought back to life, however one engine was weak, and back onto the shelf it went for a few months. however christmas morning came around and...

and in all those boxes...
17461_1326819763905_1033255980_1012023_2814893_n.jpg

was a brand new, fully disassembled traxxas 3.3, one part in each box (the most fun ive had wrapping anything for christmas). that was one of 2 motors he was given for christmas

after some fabricating, and a lot of fiddling around, my dad came up with this work of art

the truck is an original t-maxx (non wide version), came with a pro .15. the mods, at least as i can remember them
-twin 3.3s
-rrp slipper clutch
-rrp diff gears
-aluminum diff cases
-22 tooth clutch bells
-traxxas pipes
-modified dynamite ntc3 headers
-traxxas pipes
-mip cvds
-balistic stupidity skidplates and chassis braces
-stock chassis
-mip clutches
-mip temp gauges
-rrp flywheels
-proline masher 2000 and proline wheels
-more stuff that im forgetting

the tranny has been worked over, it should take the abuse. keeping the motors tunes together isnt actualy that hard, having onboard temp gauges for both engines really helps. basicly to tune it you tune each motor individually, fire them both up and make final adjustments. you don't need to run this combo very hot, mainly tune it by temps to keep everything equal.

quite possibly, lol.

2 tanks of break in on each motor (so 4 tanks total) so far, about 500ml of fuel. thats $5.29 in fuel for just that, although that was about an hour and a half of running so far (breaking motors in individually), so its actualy not that bad.

Thats a really nice truck almost too nice to bash around;-j/k .Your dad did a great job both times.......Heres a picture of my 4909 twin engined 3.3 T-Maxx I call Madd Maxx....Its not near as pretty as yours but the operation on my truck was done in 3 hours and cost me maybe $20 bucks in spare parts to do it..The extra engine is from my Revo when I put a Sirio.27 engine in. Both engines had roughly 2 gallons of fuel each burnt through them so they were basically equal in runtime...the trans has the same old stock plastic internal gears with optidrive and reverse. The trucks been built 5-6 months now and bashed pretty regularly with my 5 other bashers .....So far the trans has been holding up with no problems..It has the wide gear ratio installed and the spurgear is a 60 with a set of 20 bells.. The spurgear ,centershafts and driveshafts takes most of the beating..tuning isnt a problem and the thing sounds like angry bees on the hunt at wot plus the double engines really helps make doing double and triple flips alot easier.......

Very nice, i had a few twin nitros, one would think it would be a booger to tune but it's not. I always tuned to performance and never to temp. I had a twin nitro that would JUMP off the ground, and yeah if you build the tranny it will take it for awhile:p

wow nice truck, i used to have a tmax with a picco 26 big block gearbox used to last 15 minutes and then exsplode allways wanted a alloy box with steel gears but they way to pricey,

I raced a tmaxx and spent $2500 on it lol. why I chopped up my credit card. online shopping was new and couldn't help myself. ooooohhh steel gears, titanium skids yup, gotta have that stuff, magnesium chassis add to cart lol. tried every possible part made I think. sirio engine. took all those parts to keep it together though

To date I have 5 T Maxxes now.....I got my newest one today in an incredible deal for what it is and what I paid.......The biggest and best upgrade you could do to the T-Maxx is to add another steering horn, cut out a space for a second servo on the opposite side and prop the receiver box up on a set of throttle stilts...The dual steering servos makes keeping the T-Maxx in total control from over/understeering a snap........4 of my models soon to be all 5 have dual steering servos and 6.0 volt 2350mah rechargeable packs installed..

That takes me back a few years! I had a 2.5 TMaxx converted to twin Ofna/Pico Outlaw 26's. I didn't have too much trouble with the trans, I just kept blowing diff gears about twice a day or more.

Nice truck you guys have, post up some vids!
