Just thought I'd share what we see in AZ when the weather gets bad.

Here are a couple pics I took with my phone while driving. I was not able to out run it and ended up in it. So much for the clean car.

Visibility got to about 15 feet once we were in the middle of it. Kinda like a dirt blizzard.

We had those in Iraq all the time... I hated them. If you had to be outside your nose filled with "mud" and your goggles better be sealed good. Thanks for the pic, RCDAD- now I can scratch Arizona off the list of places that I would like to retire in 6 years. Nothing against you guys, I love the heat- but I don't want to be in any more of those sand/dust storms.

That is a wicked looking storm dude! I was swallowed by a much smaller one out at the Yuma proving grounds but still made my ass pucker lol. You Arizona dudes can keep them dirt clouds

You guys need to come on down under(australia) in summer for a nervous optic, we call them white pointers and they are out and proud for all to see on our beaches. My mates and I do the regular beach stroll to check out the talent when we are down there for a swim, sunglasses are a must........not just for the sun. :p LOL

You certanly do not want to get caught in one of these on I-8 or I 10!! Better off plowing tru the fence and get way off the road if the traffic is heavy. In Wyoming they have -- snert. A mixture of dry snow and dirt. On an old fashoned door with a keyhole below the door knob This snert can blow tru the keyhole and pile up almost to the door knob. Rough country fer shure.

It rained afterwards so this morning is beautiful. Clear sky's no dirt or pollution.

I've driven through one. It's actually pretty awesome.
