I was wondering if anyone has thought about a universal brushless mount that could be used on any car that has the standard 23cc-29cc motor? My thoughts are to mount the motor so the pinion would be on the same location as the gas motor would be... I would use the same mounting spots that we already use to mount the motor to the chassis...

If you made something like this you could modify just about any brand LS/RC
I know there is already something made for the HPI Baja but other rides would be awesome converted over to BL also...

Just food for thought... So come on fabricators do what you do and make us a mount...

Thanks for your time... :cup-1:

good idea but would it be possible as mounting a universal plate would be hard considering engines are in different places on their chassis with different componets very near to the motor. although im not an electric fan, i get where youre coming from, would make it easier to convert for other models of rc car.
are you planning on converting a petrol car?, if so what you got?
i love the instant power but the noise puts me off>

I agree that different cars mount the motors in different ways... but don't think about that cause they all use the same mounting points and the motors are all the same size... As long as the BL plate and motor maintain the same 'area' as a normal gas motor it would work...

As for what I have...

A 5b roller that has been sitting on the shelf for a long time...
Also a MCD 4x4 that I might convert over if someone was to make a mount...

.... better with a 2-stroke in 'though .....

Here we go again!!

(I know it's personal preferences and circumstances.)

Al.

Not a "here we go again", just a simple question as to if someone could design something like that... It would just open up options for a few folks... Kinda like if you build an HPI 5B with a brushless, you can't move it to a Losi 5iveT... And yes I think a 4x4 conversion would be sick, that and would be able to run in more places due to the lack of noise...

But anyways just a thought... Will be running my MCD Gasser this weekend...

i agree. you cant beat the noise of a tuned pipe revving at 18,000rpm or the smell of castrol 727 lol. it really does add to the whole effect ..i couldnt imagine my cars running silent but the intense acceleration would be great.
both have their place.

Hi guys i have made a motor mount that bolts to the FG chassis with no modification. i used all the standard bolt holes and the large engine mount. My test vehicle is a baja 4x4 comp. I also have an EVO 8 2012 spec that it looks like would bolt straight into as well.

Is that something you can make more of? and if so do you have an idea on price for them?

Thanks,
John
