Wanna Order Springs from Hobby Thek

I wanna order springs from hobby thek for my Monster but don't know which ones to get. I thought about just getting the all 6 pairs option cause i plan to go 4x4 later. But i don't know how long that will be. Any input?

long rears. I experimented with these recently and very nice progressive springs. he also sells them on ebay.uk

Im picking a set of them up on Saturday cos Im on std springs & they are too soft for jumps. I have a £20 voucher burning a hole in my pocket that I got for Crimbo too so will use that to pay for em :cool2: What shock oil would you go for with these springs?

This is definitely a personal preference.
Is your truck a 4-shock or an 8-shock one?
8-shock trucks generally have the narrower alloy option shocks, which have differrent diameter springs.
Check out your shocks - measure them.
Log onto Hobbythek and check the springs you required - '16mm' or '20mm' I think.
Hobbythek can't help - I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT!!
Ask for Wolfgang - he's an encyclopaedia on all things FG and others.
Oil?
I've gone to 'red' front, 'blue' rear springs, but as I've the narrower alloy shocks, it's silver springs with paint on.
I've gone FG4000 front, which seems right, and FG5000 rear, which seems a tad thick, but should be OK once I dial in the springs on the adjustable shocks.

Alan I'm trying to get input on peoples setups since I'm in the states. I haven't ordered from them yet but when I email them to ask question I always don't get a answer.

im trying to put oil in my stock shox and unlike the other shocks ive worked on other trucks/cars,these are different..when i put the cap on with the oil just by the caps thread .the shaft doesn't go in and out when u compress it?this is without the spring.am i doin it wrong?i tried to fill it up but then its hard to compress it.if i pour out a bit of the shock oil then i can just push the shaft and it wont even go back out..i tried 60wt and 30wt.can u pls tell me what do u guys do?

Sounds like you are overfilling the shock.
Remember you have the rubber 'volume compensation' bladder. You should alloy for MOST of it's volume.
You should find with slightly too much, a couple of drops (MAXIMUM, or you've put too much in) will come out of the bleed/vent hole in the cap.
When you compress the unloaded shock now, it should ALWAYS compress to the end, then slowly push back partway.

Mr KK, use the contact information on the Hobbythek site, and send a mail addressed to Wolfgang in the 'subject' part - he always gets back to me, and I'm definitely no exception requiring a special treatment I'm certain of that!!

I'm very much on an experiment - nothing new for work !!
MT's have 'long' shock bodies, and then there's a choice of long or short shafts.
I've just fitted the shorter shafts, with the shorter alloy rod ends to try to 'slam' it a bit.
It's dropped perhaps 1cm, but looks great. Hopefully it's more stable. and with the thicker oil, the damping should be better.
I always had the springs screwed in around 1cm, so they definitely aren't too strong and I have spare capacity to screw them in if necessary, I reckon.
Now for a 'quiet' hour or so to try it out !!

do u have pix of your shock set up?maybe a side shot woulkd be good..which stiffer springs can i use?i got the shock oil issue but it still squats when i press the truck down it wont rebound,it stays down..will a 4 shock set up work on mt?ive seen pix of the stadium or street truck with only 4 shox on it.thats the set up i want to have..any ideas??

Look at the Hobbythek site.
Shock bodies 7204.
Springs 7211/01, -02, -03.
I've got FG4000 oil front, FG5000 rear, 8 shocks, and 4x 'red' (7211/02) front, and 4x 'blue' (7211/03) rear.
I've yet to try it, but it seems fine.
I've fitted the 'damper springs', because I can - not that I'm going to be THAT serious, and to be honest, it's more to get dirty.
7084 alloy pistons also .... it's another of those FG journeys!!
Once you start, it's amazing how thing your wallet can become!!
Alan.
