Yes... But now it's a 35 pounds buggy. So it's pointless , better is oc 5b conversion. Or better off flm drivetrain for DBXL , light fast 29 pounds buggy.
What are the most have upgrades?

With the buggy you have a heat problem and a wheel and tire disadvantage if you have to run tires that are available
It's only two inches longer so it's not that big of a disadvantage and I get the extra ground clearance of the truck tire

what type of metal did you use for this? how well does it work? how thick is it?

I used a basic steel I found at home depot... it's about 1/4 in thick... and it works great... my buddy has a dbxl as well and I can flex his chassis very easily compared to mine... mine will still flex but it's alot harder to do it.... his is way to easy.
