Hi there i was running my king motor baja 30.5 cc at my friends house the other day and the temp on the motor got to 228 to 230 degrees F. So is that a normal temp . I also want to know what is the max temp u don't want to go past on this engine

Sounds like your ok. There zero information on those engines becuase (not to offend you but it's the truth) they are disposable and most the time get disposed of lol but yeah your fine, I read some people have gotten up to 300f on rctech or rcuniverse and they're engine didn't crap itself,

A lot of it has to do with how you are reading them and where and when. With an Eagletree telemetry unit on mine. We were testing something and wanted to see how far it would go before it stopped. 320/340 based engine hit 610 F before it stopped. normal range was in the 400 plus range. Once you chopped throttle it would instanly cool down atleast 100 degrees. So the running it hard and immediately stopping and hitting it with a temp gun does not work. Plus we have used cheap to mega dollar temp guns and all were all over the place.
I did forget one important info. These readings are taking from under the spark plug. This reacts the faster and gives the optimum of checking. Cylinder fins have to heat soak to give you a reading. Your cylinder might show one temp because heat has not stabilized yet with combustion chamber.
