What's your opinion? Mesh mod or not?

I think from what I learned this past summer is the mesh mod is purely based upon driving conditions. If you think (or already know) that you will be bashing on wet grass / wet mud / than I think the mesh mod makes sense. This past summer I bashed mainly in dry conditions both grass and dirt and I had zero issues with debris clogging the air circulation vents. (however I also make sure I have the removable Rovan dirt guards in place). I did have that issue where fine sand dust seized the pull start camming pawls and caused pull start issues, but even if I had the "mesh mod" it would not have done me any good. The mesh mod will not keep out fine dust debris.

The Rovan p/s cam pins were originally (and still are) dry. The issue is the poor design allowing grit to enter , and the cam pin return springs are too whimpy for the intended motion task. Compare the cheap Rovan p/s to a typical good chainsaw p/s and its clear the Rovan is just crap. But it works as it should in "perfect" conditions.
