I'm looking at wheel / tyre options.
I like the Recat wheel / tyre option for looks, but I don't know much of their longevity. FG Monster wheels have reinforcing rings - do the Redcats?
I like the idea of alloy wheels but notice that most are beadlocks, not glued on.
Is it possible to fit the FG Modellsport monster tyres to beadlock rims without modifications?
Which tyre compound do most of you use?
I notice on the Hobbythek site that SOFT, MEDIUM and HARD are available.
The tyres on my monster are all 'H', obviously HARD compound.
Coming from 4WD nitro, I have serious traction issues.
Assuming FG tyres are fine on beadlocks, I'm tempted to go for MEDIUM on the front - a little more bite - and SOFT on the rear, as I'm tired of spinning wheels everywhere (I admit, I could be more gentle, but that's not much fun!!). Once they wear out, I can simply undo the beadlocks and replace ..
Any thoughts please?
Thanks.
