as far as i know it was either lauterbaucher in germany or fg,as far as i know it is fg,they are based in germany and i run an fg beetle also.

maybe you know all about the companys but i said i would answer it in case you didnt.

as far as im sure FG were the founders of 1/5th largescale and largescale cars in general, with lauterbaucher to follow and mcd hpi carson etc etc being the most recent.

either way fg were the first to set up a genuine company getting involved with both racing and sales of such models.

if you look at higher scales like 1/4th scales and rare 1/3th scales there as far as i know were a few italian companys that ruled the roost there first going back as far as the 60ties.........

hi thanks, do you think kyosho had a go at the1/5 1/6 scale with there arc and celica, lancia cars, the design is almost the same as fg

check out this

but the ones i speak of here are 1/5th scale cars.

if you go 1/4hth and 1/5th you could go back as far as the 70ties with yankiecarz being way before fg.

in fact the first largescale car ever produced(and lot of companies copied these boys) the first ever l/scale car was back in 1977 by a company called yankie cars.

check this out man.

i think there was a lot more companys that we have never heard of way before fg and all our familer names.

actually this is a very cool link.
