he guys, ive been looking @ my buggy and the narrow front end was making me sick:( =.so i ad to come up whit a solution, heres what i did.

by cuting the bottom arm and drilling on the side were the hole for the ball was,i was able to screw a rod end whit an M6 setscrew(a long cut bolt will do)
lowerarm.webp

then hive taken the rear long turnbukle and shorten them on my late and retread them with a die nut.i made each side a full inch longer
upperarm.webp

here is the final result with longer steering rod made out of common 1/4-20 treaded rod.

ive run it and its so much more stable then before i have still the damping/spring combo to sort out but its running like a real buggy now.heres a overall look at the chassis...now the front and rear are at 18" and the car handle way better... now if i can sort out that clutch its gona be killer...

Couldn't you use the bottom arms and cut out the center supports for the shocks? just think there will be too much stress on the front arm at the joint and it will crack or snap there. Nice idea though.:cool2:

no the narrow front end is not a problem but its looking better that way i think.plus im finding it more stable that way.by the way i know those modified arm may not be the best but till i machine some its working good...kinda of proof of concept.

I would still ask, could you mill up one with the same type of support like the bottom just hollowed out for the shock? I think even with alloy the part will stress at the rod joint.:(

yes i understand your concern and im looking into that the only problem is machining the spherical hole for that ball...i have run it again tonight and jumped the thing,it landed on its roof a few time so far its holding up well...there a few 1/8 scale buggy that have the front lower arm made like that(TTR)

I also made my own carbon fiber servo tray moved the battery to the left side started a cage and built a pipe. The motor to a stock 23 cc Cy ported is next plus going to build a new ss pipe.
