Will Hot Weather make RC Engines Overheat

There is no problem in opening very slightly - ONLY slightly - make it a bit richer.
Thing is hotter air is thinner - less oxygen, so should already be a bit richer than when you set it up - might be OK.
Do you have a temperature gun?

Highest octane possible, stay conservative in 25@1 with high quality 2 stroke oil, breaks between fuel tanks.
Stay away from high grassy fields, or heavy mud bashing grounds, the key is as much ventilation and minimize too much load on the engine.

Theirs no such thing as permanent tuning.
Weather is the number one factor. I live in Florida
and the heat and humidity causes me to tweet the tuning almost daily. My biggest issue is the motor runs rich.
Heat were the the pipe is connected to the head should be between 150 to 160 degrees and the clutch housing 135 degrees. These are safe ranges. Owning a digital temperature gun is a great tool. When I was just starting out I always ran in grass and at times my motor would die and the gas in the bulb would be empty. The heat leaned out the motor and stop gas flow. Heat is an issue so I always check the above temperature.

Keep in mind that a heat gun is not really the best thing. We have had high dollar ones and cheap ones. None of them read equally. The best thing to use is a telemetry unit with the temp sender under the spark plug. The second you chop the throttle the engine will lose a 100 degree F instantly. So this means you might see a cool or good temp once you bring it in and check it with a gun. But in actuality you are running hotter when running.

I got the classic 7 dollar yellow with black grip 3 AAA battery type, China brand, works perfect.
Its not rocket science, do some testing with the car temp system, and see if it matches. No need to re-invent the wheel, its a temp gun, check for calibration and on to the field.
Signs that will tell you it is overheating is difficult to start, engine will stay up in the rev range after a WOT pass, engine will not feel snappy, choppy isolating idle, engine suddenly shutting off. Disconnect the spark plug cable and make it go through a cycle, the engine should feel with its usual pop and significant resistance in the cord.
The gold rule, no matter what, never no less than 1-1/4 turn on either L or H, maybe 1 turn, but thats the limit. If you need to go leaner than that to get a tune, something is wrong in the mix, ignition, compression, etc.

I would rather do some good port work for better lubrication and air flow.
Efficiency is key, there are a few mods doing oil holes in the bearing locations, porting the cylinder head, remove any imperfections, a good pipe so the engine is not restricted.
