WJ carburetor direction

So I've just noticed that Taylor engines have the WJ carburetor needles towards the clutch side, and the Rovan 71cc has the WJ carburetor needles towards the flywheel side. Does it matter?
PS: WT carburetors in Zenoah/CY engines have the needles towards the flywheel
 
(Just in case, I don´t care about the needles, I'm worried about the optimal up vs down position of the fuel outlets inside the venturi)
