Mate

you have to take out the belt completely

Put some kind of a powder like baby powder on the belt plastic channel part and belt itself

that will eliminate friction

Tenderizing the belt with your hands helps too

I have a 4WD On Road and after the treatment its almost as free as a 2 wd

It rolls like a 2 wd with no friction where as it was hard to move beforehand .

The adjustable tensioner would help too but not necessary

Another thing is to mount a piece of thin teflon runner inside the belt channel.

Good luck mike

I use graphite powder it works wonders! and some what embedds it self so there very little drag.

That's interesting Angelshark.

We race on clay and have to hose the cars clean at the end of the race meet and I'm guessing moisture does get into the belt channel and I was thinking that graphite powder and baby powder might gum up?

Have you had any problems with it?

Curious if anybody has ever broken a belt?
