I use the King Cobra Racing Venom. Works well for me :cool2:
There have been a few other threads similar to this so you might be as well doing a search
Dwarfy, do you use their synthetic one or the caster based one ???
I got sold the caster based one (gold bottle, red top) when I first got my SS, cos I disint have a clue about oils, and it seemed that people thought the caster based ones were not a good idea.... BUT, several months later and all still seems well !
So i'm wondering on my next engine whether to stick with what I know - the caster... or to try their synthetic ??????????
I used to use straight castor....but you can't tune to plug colour....always black.
I now use Maxima castor 927 and love it....smells good too.

From the above (and other threads I've read) it seems like the general opinion is that castor or part synthetic is fine for bashing and protects teh engine well, but all the racers use fully synthetic because of the high RPM protection.
Despite being an engineer, I couldn't say which is best as I don't typicaly deal with high RPM engines (the fastest ours do is 600 RPM at full chat). Does anyone know the technical reason for using fully synthetic?
TM, is amsoil fully synthetic?
