So I was out tonight having a bash with some friends when I noticed my car suddenly didnt sound right ... brought it over to see the exhaust had broken at the weld on the can of the exhaust.

Anybody else had this? Its a 002 29cc

Hoping I can just join it using a silicone coupling ...

Funnily enough, the car was actually a fair bit quicker with just the short pipe and no can lol

is it the dominator type or the ss one?
 
thats mad i,ve had the hpi ss pipe on my buggy for 9months and its still going strong,you can buy the header pipe on its own think there £20 on ebay or have a look on abbots rc website,
 
The SS pipe is known for doing exactly this. It's not a bad exhaust for power etc. but once broken replce it with something from Jetpro or Dom.

I'm a Jetpro fan having had one on my Baja they make it scream especially on top end but the Dom is great for bottom end.

the dom is a bit to exsposed i think and way overpriced, think the k,m dom copy is only 65quid :w00t::w00t:
 
Its not the first section nearest the engine that broke, its the 2nd section with the big can, it broke apart on a weld just before the big can.

I might get the KM dom copy if its basically as good as the real thing?

I've a split on my header part on my SS which goes 3/4 the way around right next to the fixing bolts. :mad:
I'll take your header off you if you no longer need it. :lol:

Just wondered if the Dom copy gives better performance than my ss copy
 
I've a KM Dom Clone and with it on the cars fly.
I've had to change the SS (as its split) for a RD Logics pipe, i originally bought it to replace the Dom clone but it holds the car back something rotten.
If your getting a dom clone you may also need to get a rear bumper as i've split 2 cylinder heads due to the pipe impacting on the ground after jumping.

No idea what the Km copy DDM pipe is like but protecting it or the original DDM is a must. Modifieds rear bumper is very good and adds some bling but is expensive.

You can get a real DOM for much less bidding on ebay. They will go for about $115 tops. The steel will take a much better beating then that of the ss pipe. The ss pipe gets hit in a flat drop landing and that puts stress on the pipe when hot.

Yes it will give you better performance. It is more of a tuned pipe then a expansion chamber.

The copy is not a copy in whole. Its a copy in shape and looks. The sizing is much different and will give some difference in performance good or bad depending on your motor and tune.
