is there anyone in the manchester area that can mend these engines.
im really out of ideas now!

seems to have good compression
petrol is gettin into the chamber and theres good airflow :(

can charlieboy repair engines do you know? eccles is jus around the corner :lol:

charlieboy, or ben as we know him, is a car mecanic by trade so he knows his stuff with most engines,

wow he could help!!!!

i think he is 1 of jackrods friends though and may not want to help as me an jack had a disagreement a while back!
if you see him online before i do could u ask if he could help for me pablo?

Struggling with this one, you've said you've tried and done most of the things we all would do.
Best thing is to rebuild from scratch,head off and dry out, check the head isn't cracked then you tighened it up around the bolt fixtures, check piston ring is the right way around and it moves freely on the piston, i had a slightly twisted ring once and it wouldn't start, i changed it and hey presto.

Have you an billet manifold and teflon gaskets as these don't flex as much as the standard plastic manifold, better for air leaks.

the manifold is plastic but the gaskets are all from a zenoah gasket kit.
i rebuilt the engine checkin the head for cracks or grind marks and it is clean.
piston is facing the correct way. the only thing i did wrong initially was when i rebuilt the carb i put the diaphram on upside down. when i realised the mistake i was sure it would work once rectified but still nothin.
the piston head now doesn't look like theres any petrol getting to it....i tried tippig petrol in the head but didnt pop so im abit confused lol.

i hate bein a newb :(
 
Ninga,is there compression? Have you got the fuel lines the right way round?(delivery to the bottom) It might need a re-ring if the bore isnt scored.
This is one of those things that you'd have to see it to diagnose it.
If you go down to Deeside this Sunday we'll sort it.

Oh ,forgot to say,the insulator block when made from plastic tend to warp giving airlocks.
Best way to go is to put the block on something flat(I use a sheet of glass) ,If there is a warp you'll tell instantly.
Try an alloy one,thats all I use as I have had too much trouble in the past.

look ininja. charlieboy is a friend of mine but i am sure he will have no problems in helping you i am not bothered in the slightest about our past dealings, its been and gone in my opinion if you notice the forum user (bigga j) has helped you on many occassions and he is one of my closest friends. at the end of the day we are all blokes with toy cars and its really not worth falling out about. i welcome you to deeside any time you like i am sure with all the knowledge there you will have a running engine in no time hope to see you soon also check our new cub forum out www.northwestoffroadrcclub.co.uk

i cant get to deeside due to no transport but if u could see if charlieboy could have a look for me that would be great???
its been sat for a week or so in bits..jus finished putting it all back together now, fingers crossed it starts :D

cheers voo...the insulator block is brand new never been heated up (i split the last 1 tightening it up too much!)

the thing is it worked before i did the gasket so its obviousley something ive done, or not done lol
