This is the acceleration on soft wet grass - when you have a DDM high end Dominator, Oddified 8500rpm clutch, and 180 kold kutter studs in your tyres!!

Hope the link works!

Thanks.
Once I get the second pair of MCD MT tyres, I'll mount them on their FG alloy wheels, and it'll look like a REAL MT - they fit PERFECTLY.
I've possibly a few issues with clearances for the hydro front brakes, but they're not serious.
Alan.

Thanks KK.
It did tumble once, but sideways - lateral grip's as good as longitudinal with those studs in!!
I had a good save I thought Pete might have caught, which looked quite good.

I'm looking forward to getting the MCD tyres on, without studs and seeing how it handles - its on rails at the moment, which is quite scary.
All I need is some 'Job'sWorth' to come along and state how dangerous it is with the studs in ... !!!!!!
That would never happen would it Pete and Pable? !!!!!!!! :clown::no::clown:

Resurrecting some old footage !!
There are a lot of Kold Kutter studs in the standard FG MT tyres.

I was quite impressed myself !
The clutch has finally packed in and replacement shoes are on their way from Ian (Oddified).
I could fire up the FG MT 'BT' and it would rev to it's heart's content, then finally the shoes would catch.
I'm told it did quite well considering the weight !!

seeing that speed wobble brings back memories. I was 18 with a stupid fast bike. new hwy going into a big tunnel. I was laid out on my bike, feet over back signal lights laying on my tank. getting down low. I hit speed wobble at 160 mph. I was lucky no cars were on the road with me at that moment cuz I was using all the lanes to get under control. I looked at the ditch with water and considered jumping but I had to save my bike haha.... I never ever tried to go that fast again.

ya I wished they showed the rest of the part with the fat chick haha. bet she ran herself over too haha. I;ve got a scar runs around my knee and across my shin and down to my ankle from a good bike accident. I flew 42 feet flipping through the air and hit the side of a mountain, avalanche area. was kncoked out cold. ruptured kidney, 45 stitches and permanent nerve damage in my leg, big chunk in helmet gone, bit the tip of my tounge off, busted my other leg (which was a hairline fractuire and it actually never broke until I was out of the hospital. I was shooting a game of pool with bud to kill time to see my insurance guy, stepped around to take a shot and snap... they never noticed cuz all the damage was on my right side hehe)... told me I'd never walk again properly.. don't much like doctors, they lie ;)

I was wondering which of the clips to highlight whilst watching, until I saw the last one - THAT WAS LUCKY !!
Anyway, Blue Thunder will have new shoes in a couple of days and SHOULD be up and running soon afterwards !

No worries. Scary vids. Justifies my decision 35 years ago not to get a motorbike - initial doubts started when my dad showed my one (normal) pointed elbow and one round one without the tip - where he'd fallen off rather a few times - possibly not many from what I remember of him - definitely more cautious when I knew him than I've been in cars :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

If you listened to the video I was 'on it' perhaps 20% of the time - that's the traction I had with those studs.
I'd got tired of instant donuts with the standard tyres. It didn't help that whoever had 'built' this truck glued 2 hard tyres to one side, 2 medium to the other !!
It's on non-studded MCD tyres and goes great.

I've fitted a longer alloy 'insulator' for a try. Don't know if it works well or not. The Dominator I have is the high end and this is supposed to help the low end. ... possibly just a bit of bling and no change. It sounds fine at least.
Al.

I agree, stock fg mt tires aren't good for much other than parking lots bashing. even the cloned firehammer tires were better since they cut pieces out to make it more like lugs (siping?).

give a review on the insulator, never tried one so have no clue. I sold my last street bike in 1988 and the person that bought it, loaned it out and they wiped it into a park bench and the girl on back died. I was being sued for 3.5 million bucks, but lucked out finding a piece of paper a year later to prove I had sold it. I'd love to have bike again for cruising, but trips along country roads and such are way more laid back. too many idots in the city to ride around

I'm called many things - by trade!! :D:D - but one of them whilst in UK apart from fanct QC, development is a simple Lab Rat! Helping bring the pennies in when not on a project.
The lads in the lab are much younger and one often talks of his Uncle on a Hayabusa touching 200mph - on a local highway - the East Lancs Road, which is a straight dual carriageway between Liverpool and Manchester, but with traffic lights - perhaps 15 sets between the 2 cities or more!!

Do I believe him?
We know it's fast, and indeed CAPABLE of that speed, but on THAT road, not even an EEDIOTT would attempt that.

I'm getting old. It's true, you lose some bottle / get saner, whatever.

I need to get some beer in me again!! That's why I'm on holiday anyway, waiting for parts.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Nice vids.
The red one sounds familiar !!!
I like the drifting in the second video.
Al.

yeah the red one runs so sweet now re-fitted the red clutch spring the other day to find out that the normal spring had snapped  so it was a good job i decided to change it, took it back to the field and did abit of fine tuning and ive now got rid of the start off lag, it was like waiting for the turbo to come in, you can hear it in the first vid if you listen but shes all good now :cup-1:
