i posted a thread yesturday asking for help on what to buy? im looking at two cars at the min one is on preloved.com and is a rc lauterbacher petrol alloy car £400, and on ebay is a fg marder beetle for £400 item number is 270687544249, i would really appreciate it very much if some one would take a look and see which one is better. thanks joe:):):confused:

ive looked a them both and hate to say this but id go with the lauterbacher if its as described it sounds a nice package with the oddified mill swings it but ad don't realy show much detail the fg is nice and has got good amount of spares with it and everything you need youve got a tough choice there mate both nice looking cars id be happy with either one but drawn to the lauterbacher as its more race bred

I agree with Renbar and Joe on the other post but I'll add this, If it was a new marder or the Lauterbacher I'd still be going for the Lauterbacher.

Mike

I agree with the above two. I would however meet in person and see it before you buy it. If thats possible. I have a hard time thinking someone bought a car for 1200 then put 200 into it to sell it for 400?

in addition to what BTB said, inspect the car personally, then insist that you see the engine started.

gassers are very easy to start as there is no mucking about with the tune and plugs when the weather changes. So if they can't start it for you, consider walking away.

it also sounds like he dosnt know quite what hes got there id be quick and get it for that price if its a ok it wont be around for long and youlle kick ourself if it goes while your thinking about it like said above go a see it look over it get him to start it give him your money and run before he changes his mind then enjoy it mate

i find my oddified 23 takes bit to start,i put this down to not running a choke, but once its warm starts first pull,a choke would solve this for me so don't be put off if it don't start first pull.i now take my filter off to plug inlet and it fires second or third pull,if i don't do this i can pull 10-15 times before i wants to play

miine is a stock Zen 260 engine and usualy starts on the third pull (2 with choke on, one with choke off) . If it has been sat doing nothing for a while but you can get it going within 20 pulls it'll probably be fine (can take a few more pulls if the plug has got corroded in storage etc).

see Trips thread here for a vid of how easy it is to start.

Even if you arn't used to the sound of a gasser, you'll know if it sounds wrong (it'll sound all lumpy and just plain wrong if the engine is knackered, or will not idle), otherwise a bit of a tune and an overhaul will generaly see any engine right as they are pretty tough.
