Hi everyone,

I thought I would share my second Jet Truck build with everyone. I was going to keep this one under wraps until the new show season. I'll try and get some vid action of it running soon (once the weather improves)

Hope you like it

Cheers Al!

J - Very pleased you liked my truck! – A little bit of a negative comment coming from the sites moderator and considering the time and effort in building this..

Cable brakes are absolutely spot on if they are set up correctly and matched to a dedicated high torque servo – I have often seen cables outperform hydraulics in the right hands. I personally wouldn’t use them for racing, particularly on very twisty circuits due to progressive cable stretch but for slowing this down on high speed runs there certainly won’t be a problem. With a model of this nature overall checks must be carried out following every run including brake checks.

I have over 25 years large scale modelling experience and am a bit of a perfectionist so cutting corners is not an option - Believe me, you cannot turn the wheels by hand when the brakes are fully applied!

BBBBBBBBBBBBBLING BLING

Now that is a peace or art for sure , its so immaculate who long did this take you to design & build so fxking sweet.
cant wait for the vids

Believe me ,I wasn't knocking your truck. As Sickboy said ,It is immaculate but with that engine I would have thought you would go for Megatech or another good brand.
I myself have ran hydro's and cable brakes on a few of my FG's and although cables were ok I found they tend to brake unevenly in corners whereas I have never had a problem with hydraulic brakes with the above mentioned tendencies.
But as you said you'll be straight lining so there would be need.
Good luck and I'd love to see the vids.
J;)

Cheers J, I run Megatech’s on my Super Cross and they are Awesome. I intend to run the truck in a very large area with plenty of run off so am happy that the cables will slow the truck safely
I’ll post some further vids once the weather improves and I can get her out
Thanks again
J

Hi Lee,

The model has taken a very long time to design and build, this is my second jet build so I found this one a little easlier as I used some of the ideas from my first build - thanks for your kind comments
