I have some monster truck wheels and tyres for my marder, aint used them upto now, ( and i know they look pretty daft on the marder slim line body) anyway , will these hamper the performance of the car as im thinking of changing the gears to get more top speed>(maybe 42/22 from 46/ 18) I know my acceleration with the origonal gears will be slightly slower off the line , so how bad will it be with taller gears? the thing is i should have a bit more torque soon with 29cc from 23cc, will that equal it out,or should i just leave them alone?(big wheels)while im here does anyone know what sort of h p a stock 29cc zen puts out with jetpro 2 and a k and n filter. thanks

You will need to beef up the suspension just like the MT owners due to the stress on the arms. You will also heat up the clutch bell real good with taller gears and big wheels.

I think iwill leave them alone then , just thought it would wheelie good due to the grip... don't wana rip a hole in my pocket any more than i am doing, will get rid of them and invest in some tarmac tyres,.. already have a few sets of nobblies for grass and and some astro turf tyres, actually i have some grp tarmac tyres but cant be arsed to mess with my front disk brakes every time i wana use them, so will get some that fit on the bigger origonal marder wheels, thnks matey.

Hi hyper just a quick note I'm getting a brand new zen 29cc tomorrow and have been advised by SteveO at Rossmods to get rid of K & N filter as there crap for stopping tiny particles getting into your engine! There good for stopping bigger particles but it's the tiny particles that do the most damage, he said to me to get rid of and get a proper FG foam airfilter and get some two stroke oil and put dome in a bag and drop in the foam filter and squeeze it together making it soak up the oil, then remove from the bag and let it dry before putting it back on the vehicle,so then any tiny particles will stick to it and after about 30/40mins of use, then take it out and clean with fairy liquid and start the oil in the bag process again.

With the on road tyres, there is a simple fix. You use the touring car axle

and a 14mm or 17mm square block and you can use any wheels you like e.g truck, F1, touring car or off road tyres without pissing about with anything or worrying about your brakes..

Hope this helps.

Mike

p.s fit the E clip in the groove nearest the threaded end.
