Hi newbie needs to ask a question.

Well im curious to know if i was to sell my monster truck in bits would i make more Monday instead off parting it out as a hole car, i need to raise a few bob for a HPI Baja buddy which i have had my eye for a while.

My truck is touching stock just has a few mods such as a tuned pipe, steering and throttle/brake servo have been changed to hitec, wheelie bar and big foot wheels witch i think come with the truck apart from that its all plastic and i have a basic hpi radio plus a fusion charge.. i do have a custom body witch im in to minds in selling as i got had that painted from the states..

Please give me your input on this as i might list the stuff on this forum.... another think is fg parts popular.
 
I agree with mike I have just built a baja 5bss and to be honest I was devastated with it, build quality if parts was shoddy, none of the wishbones fitted right, they all needed shiming out. I have got rid of it, never even ran it. Now back on a mcd evo3 and a Fg f1 and marder ( which I am parting out at the mo ). If you did part it out I think you would struggle really as there isn't much demand for standard parts. Keep it bud and get some alloy on it :)
 
spot on theres no real money in plastic standard parts is it was all alloy it would have made you enough to get a baja no problems the plastics will only get a couple of quid here and there i say keep it and bling it up with alloy all alloy fg's rock and are very strong mine takes a hell of a bashing with only minor problems
 
The only reason im getting rid off this truck is because im struggling to get it to run properly ive had it close to 4 months now and i don't think ive had a bash longer then 10 minutes without something going wrong :( yesterday i took her out within 3mins i broke a servo and bent a hub.

What you members are saying does seem true eBay has quite alot off cheap fg parts, i mite get a few bob for the pipe, servos, engine but the rest is just waste is there any demand for rollers?

I do still want a baja as my previous car was a hpi baja v1 (purple chassis) and i loved it i brought it cheap (£210) i ran it to the around, i didnt even have to spent a penny on it the only problem i noticed was the flywheels screw keeps breaking on jumps. I made a big mistake selling.

I'll probably sell it rtr or try and get a swap with a hpi baja if its a decent buggy.... i would like £400-£450 is that a realistic price people.

I would love a 5T.
 
another problem im currently having with the mt is i cant seem to hold power down, there is no grip on these big foot tyres is there some way i can get around this.

i run on grass could that be the problem.

Welcome to the forum.Can you put your location in as we can then give you the best help.
V1 is the HPI with the 23cc mill and 4mm shock shafts/plastic diff etc.The V2 is the uprated version with a 26cc and 6mm shock shafts and alloy diff.There are other parts but you get the drift.
I have to agree with Mike.I have owned three baja's and they don't fair up as well as the FG's.

yep i had the v1 with a upgraded 26cc cy engine and a ss pipe.
All you guys say the fg is better but im struggling to believe that i must be doing something wrong, if any off you guys would like to sort my fg out then i may consider my plans :P Thanks mate yes ill holla if i need any help.
I love the 5t ive never owned one but the look off it is wonderful.
if i get a swap with a hpi baja i will swap considering its a well looked after car.
How much do you think i would get for my fg in bits and as a hole if you know?
Ive heard alot off promising stuff about the KM what are they like.
