Has anyone here installed the KM two speed KIT on a single seed buggy. In other words, converted a single speed to a two speed. I ask the question because I want to know if the KM two speed kit is complete with all parts needed for the conversion.

I have the two speed and it works great. It took me only a few to get it to shift when I wanted to... Love it and very glad I have it

Mike

Thanks to all that responded. I have one installed (factory installed) on a KM T1000 and love it as well . Zero issues to date and I beat the poop out of my truck.

I am thinking of getting a 'base" KM Buggy and the first mod I would like to do is add the two speed. Just wanted to make sure the kit was all inclusive.

i know Dans is, in the link i showed above, and those are steel spurs and pinions, so theyre tuff, i haven't had a single issue with mine, only mod i had to do since i put in meatty bones was remove rear tab from cover and use bolts with concave washers to attach the cover back, the tab hit the boot inboard one, and torn end of it off, now it clears fine with tab removed, and cover is secure using bolts and nuts with concave washers.

You run yours on a truck??!! It runs great with car tires, but when I put my Trenchers on (truck tires), it hates life. The engine just drags and the car is slow. I thought the engine just couldn't handle the 2nd gear with the turck tires on it. Do you think the clutch just may be slipping?

if it originally was single and you added a 2 speed, then yah you need to readjust carb on high speed needle for proper high end, and also one thing you might need to do is also adjust the 2 speed via the allen bolts thru bell housing, for when it grabs the 2nd gear, sounds like its grabbing too soon, and not letting the motor rev up high nuff before it kicks in, adjust it for later grab, motor will have hgher revs then when it pops the 2nd gear it'll scream off

Yeah, I had the highspeed gear kicking in too soon. I adjusted it, not it kicks in a bit late, but wheelies a little on the change.

Thanks

takes a lil time to get it right, you have to adjust both sides evenly, so when ya get one side done ya have to spin the clutch around for other side to line up on hole and make same adjustment again, you have to do it evenly or clutch will engage in one spot and not evenly around the 2 speed bell
