Does it run ok - any weird noises? There is a 'tight spot' on them when you hit the compression at the top of the stroke which is what this looks like. What did it run like before you put the new head kit on? Did you put new bearings etc in when you did the head kit?

when it was running it sounded like the fly wheel was catching but look what i found when i took it to bits

Im not well up on engine mods but something has gone wrong with the install there. What engine & head kit is it?

it was a DDM 29cc head kit but i don't know what ive done im quite mechanicaly minder and these engines are pretty straight forward

just rebuilt the engine with my spare 23cc head that i had and it fired up on the 3rd pull.:) so have i built up the other head wrong or is there some minor defect in the 29cc head don't no but will be contacting ddm
 
I don't need to tell you that if you're rebuilding an engine that has had bits come off the piston like yours, then you'll need new bearings and seals because you know you'll not get all the swarf out no matter what you do.
