There is no need to run anything but an open diff in a 2wd off road car - simplez.

A standard geared diff is referred to as open....not locked (as in solid) and not limited slip...

on a 2wd most things can be cured with the throttle but it can get technical tuning a 4wd that can have 3 diffs...
