Hello all, looking for opinions on a 1/5th 4x4 Truck. I'm interested in something 4x4, unless you all can convince me 2x4 is just as fun in this scale. Looking for a truck/monster truck, I don't really want a buggy. something with a good amount of ground clearance. Would also consider a SCT, Stadium, or Trophy truck. I'm only looking to spend $600-700 I know I know, its not alot. I was checking out Redcats Rampage MT's and the XT's. Also the FS models on e-bay. Or maybe something HPI used as i don't want to shell out $1500 for new.

Any ideas or experiences with the models i listed would be appreciated. Are the Redcats decent? How about the Exceed version? Are the FS's on Ebay any good? Are parts available?

So far i'm leaning towards the Redcat because they have decent reviews and parts are easy to get.

I live in the U.S, New England area

Thanks for any help!

I'd prefer new, but would buy used if its a good deal. I'm in the U.S so i would want to buy something from here if possible to avoid large shipping costs.

Hmm thats weird i heard FG's and MCD are decent?

I would say save up, hope Father Christmas helps there as well, and get a Losi 5ive in the New Year when prices become sensible.

I like the Redcat I got the Rampage XB-E buggy and this thing is awesome. I might be alittle bais because I sell Redcat if you are looking for one let me know I can offer some advice and get you a good deal I offer free shipping on all my items. But the Rampage XB-E is fast and it is made to last I went with the electric it try it. I am looking at getting the Rampage XT next I want to run gas. If you PM me I can offer you a better deal. Patriothobbies.net is my new site it is not listed on there yet, but go to patriothobbies.com I am in the middle of moving that site but it is listed and PM me for the best deal. You will not be disappointed in the Redcat. I also offer Nutech in alittle more than your price range by about $75 if you PM me.

My .02...you can spend all that $ on an MCD or FG and you do get better quality no doubt...But from my experience with a RedCat MT for over 1.5 yr is that it's pretty damn tough and well built. Unless you're going to be racing it or bashing it in ridiculous scenarios, it will do you just fine. and they are awesome fun and easy to work on with lots of part availability. (This forum does tend to be biased on MCD n FG)
