hi guys i have a baja with a 26cc cy engine large x port x can with 3" stingers 668 carb 57/17 gears what mph will it do?
hi,im sure ive seen bajas doing 50 mph with those gears, but they had either tuned pipes or ported motors, you need the gear ratio as well as the power to pull a certain speed. i think with the x can and a 26 id agree and say around 40mph,if you was to change the pipe,im sure you could easily top that. my mate has a 28cc baja with a dom, that does over 45mph.

the xcan is only a little better than a standard exhaust, my bro runs a marder with a 26
Zenoah a 2speed gearbox and a samba pipe, on road we have clocked it at around 53mph

If you are looking for top speed need a good pipe made for RPM. The rear DOM is not a good choice for top speed. If you gear it up and get a good top end pipe you might get mid to high 40's but with a stock motor it is going to take a while to get it up there with tall gears. Whit what you have I say maybe low 40's. Keep in mind to scale MPH that would be around 200 MPH.

About the best I have seen with a HPI style Baja is about 80 MPH and the record was on a FG Baja 97MPH.

yes i agree, its more of a torque pipe, i use a fg marder jetpro v2 which is a top end pipe and gives nice power up in the rev range, some of those fg's that are running mid 90's (mph) are using the same pipe, the only problem is unsilenced which makes it stupidly loud, sounds nice at full revs but a bit too much sometimes

what are your gears made from as the plastic ones probably wont take the abuse....

if they are the ones fitted with the correct shape cut for the layshaft and not grub screwed on you can get really stupid speeds just by fitting your pinion gear to the layshaft and the spur gear to the clutch bell...chassis mods will probably be needed though...

the car will fly along but will also probably kill the clutch shoes and bell..
It would need to be pushed along too so it could get going..

good to do for a laugh and just to see how fast it would go but in the long run you will damage more than its worth...and it will get boring very quick

Good luck with it..

As said above you need a top end pipe. The x-can gives a decent improvement on low end power over the std can which is fine for pulling out of corners but wont help in the speed stakes.

Where abouts in Lancs are you? Do you want to know the speed out of interest or are you going to try to make it max out?
