5T to a 5B is it as easy as it looks?

Okay dumb question.
To make my 5t into a 5b do I just remove parts till it looks like one?
I would assume just put a 5b body on it and its done?

Basically yes. But some parts need to be replaced in order for the 5B parts to fit.

The 5b is about 6 pounds lighter then the 5t. Much of this is in the tires. Now on the 5t in the transmission it has a lower gear then the 5b. Drive gear on the lay shaft in the transmission on a 5b is 20 teeth and 5t 19.
