a long time in the making, some 20mths off and on, but the foff jeep build i've been working on is finished except for the pipe.
4130 chmoly tubing and plate all round, 4 link rear suspension with solid rear axle and ifs.
i made use of the old rampage drivetrain i had (still have near a complete pig in boxes for spares) and used a hurrax rear driveshaft for extra length and beefiness. used aa rear pig shft up front so increased wheelbase by 55mm to 570mm, weighs 34lb with a vrc propipe. I'm really pleased with the way the rear link geometry worked out...lots of travel and no bind anywhere...have a toxyc pipe on the way that only needs slight modding to fit and tuckin out of harms way, should be here by friday, hope to get it running at the hills at the weekend.

i was inspired by those videos...do they stillhave foff on eurosport there?
there will defo be video...I've now rigged a rather daft looking head strap for my camera, well the strap looks ok but me wearing it looks a bit trainspotterish :(
works way better than having it bolted to the tx like i had done before...now i film where my noggin is pointing.
we've some real good hills round here in the old gravel and sand pits that litter the area and one unconquered hill (there are many impossible climbs but this one can be done i reckon...it's on my you tube channel under rampage hill climb) where many have tried and all have failed...i built this to try and get over the top of that one pesky hill... got within a foot with my old pig with paddles and same, drivetrain motor/pipe combo so will be a good test to see if the chassis works

here's a quick vid..second time out and going strong...i'm going to try the rc4wd paddles i think and a new obr 30.5 losi motor should give it about 45% more oomph

cheers guys, seeing as this has the guts out my old rampigMT then i guess i actually managed to make a silk purse out of a sows ear:lol:

@outtaluck...you must have misread, i'm on about the OBR 7.5hp losi/4wd torque monster motor;)http://www.oneillbrothers.com/6274-7-5hp-full-mod-zenoah-30-5cc-4-bolt-losi-engine.html not the 2 bolt cy26 paperweight that comes stock in the losi. the obr motor makes peak torque and hp at 13300 so will give me the power to get on the pipe real early on up the hills so will have more speed to get some air and to try and clear the vert faces. hoping the rc4wd paddles will give me the extra scoop i need for more forward thrust:w00t: that's the plan anyway

Yes i did miss read i was meant to fix it up lol sorry
yeah new obr motor for the losi is awsome, cant wait to see it installed and running:D

i know, i've been eying the oddified kit...only proper N0S kit out there with the fuel solenoid as well as the nitrous one so you can dump the bottle without fear of leaning it out, they aren't cheap though. I'll see how the tires and motor works and go from there

santa came a bit late but brought me the rc4wd paddles today...i took out the foams and replaced them with wider proline foams out of the excavator tires and threw them on desparado rear rims...no stretching required as the fit perfect with no hassles and they look good too. the 5t rims your supposed to use are 10mm skinnier and have a narrower offset. the wider proline foams are a tad taller but softer than the rc4wd ones so works out like they were meant to be together. i'll try these tomorrow, weather permitting, to see if they work, i've about 1/2" more ground clearance and more scoop so should be good, just waiting on the motor now so i have the power to scoop faster.
