as some people no im building an alloy monster beetle anyway my alloy lower rear arms have turned ive fitted them but now the upper arms arnt horizontal there pointing upwards, anyway any body got any pictures of there alloy rear end so i can see what it should look like and i don't think the arms on the rear hubs are right
cheers gary

o and has any bidy got alloy diff holder for sale or swap, this piece of crap a bought from turkey is s**te, he must of been pi**ed when he drilled the holes for it ill put a picture up later

it wouldn't be unusual for the upper arms to be pointing upwards, it would depend on how many inboard mounting holes you have and what type of hubs you have i.e is the rod end held in with a bolt or is it the type that is held in with a roll pin and E clips.

For general set up the rear wishbone could do with being horizontal with all 4 wheels on the deck rather than the wishbone pointing up or down.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I'd seriously consider swapping those inboard rod ends for the genuine FG type with the proper locking nuts, it'll save you all sorts of shaking itself to bits type problems and it'll be better for adjusting the toe in.

hey mike cheers i ant got a problem with critasism, it just makes me build a better truck
any more knowledge would be greatful

They're aftermarket ones (poss from Turkey) like you might get from KPD, Krikke or any other aftermarket parts supplier. Yes they're different but they do look like FG type ones and fit in a similar way.

gary so what have you decieded to use on the back are you sticking with the blue ones or using the silver hubs with the extenders or are you not using them i run the same extenders on mine but not sure if they do anything other than change upper arm angle but to use them you need shorter upper arm rods

Have you ordered the locking nuts?

One little tip, if you're not using brakes on the back other than the layshaft, it'll be a good move to put a couple of grub screws in the brake mount hole to stop the 5hite getting into your bearings.

yes mate just took a couple for ya,,,,don't know what there meant to do im sure mike knows if there worth fittng or removing in my case,,,also ive no idea on how to set them up or what they do if anything

In all honesty, the only thing they do is affect the camber change and they're mostly used on touring cars, with such big wheels and the fact you're not racing where .5mm makes a difference then they're not needed on an off road car - that said, it won't harm your car to have them on.

@ jea, again the alloy rod ends are aimed at the touring cars because excess weight isn't good on them, most racers aim for 10kg's for scrutineering - they last anywhere near as long as the steel ones either.

there stock alloy fg lowers & uppers its the m8 threaded adjuster thats shorter i think there the same as the adjusters on lower arms
