Which are the most suitable tires?

Hi, i know there are questions similar to mine on this thread, but im looking for ones which fit 17mm hubs.

They need to be large ones as they are going to be fitted to my shengqi hummer.

It gets run on mostly grass/ dirt and occasionally on tarmac.

Does the type of wheel make any difference to the trucks ability to pull off a wheelie??

try fg stadium or monster truck wheels,plenty used on ebay. think ftx punisher wheels fit, cheaper too.you need grip as well as torque to wheelie, if your front wheels are big and heavy,will make it harder to get the front end up.
the novelty wears off after a few times,trust me, my marder was still weelying with 22/42 gears and a 17 layshaft with a tuned motor! pain in the a55!

thanks for the reply,

my truck its self if heavy, it can wheely providing the front gets some lift from some bumpy ground, and any suggestions for getting more torque without the tyres spinning like mad before the full power can get put down??
 
To do wheelies you need power and torque..only changing the wheel ain't going to make it wheelie

ive got a 23cc engine with a ddm torque pipe (im intending to get the wt813 with a built in accelerator pump) , when i put all the power down tghe wheels usually spin loads, anyway for them to properly grip the surface??
 
yeah i would get a bigger engine but my 23cc its running really well so im enjoying it while it lasts
 
The 23cc engines are good engines esp with a decent tuned pipe like you have. The more cc's you have the more torque you gain but in turn have less top end rpm.
 
yh i took it out for a quick spin this morning and it was wheeley-ing happily, it stopped doing that after i was on the grass but it was slightly damp so.....

i had the same dilemma when i bought my wheels. i was going to buy the mammoth wheel and tyre kit from hobbythek but i found some cheap fg baja wheels on ebay and they seem to do the job.i found that they had good traction on dirt tarmac and short grass but long wet grass is another story:lol:

Instead of Purchasing the 813 I would purchase the 990. It is basically the same as the 813 without the Accelerator pump.....I run OBR Engines and that is what they suggest. Also it is one last thing to Fail on the Carb....
