ok so i got 2x marders with different size diff gears. on is wider and less teeth and one is skinneyer and more teeth. my question is witch one to use and why, there are many gears on this and iam running a cy29cc with a 2mm stroker kit stuffed balanced crank billet head, race ported top end and piles of power :). just changed gears to 20-44 and lots of top end and pretty good bottom end running the diff with less teeth at the moment

I assume you are talking about the layshaft gear that mates with the diff ring gear?? It should be a wider gear but you can use the std width same as the main drive gear with no problems so long as its lined up correctly. 14T is std on the MT and 16T std on the marder & baja. You can also get 15T and 17T.

You can also change the diff ring gear. 48T is std on all models (I think!) but you can change to 50T

but if you are talking about the gear around the diff, what are they, how many teeth. the more teeth the lower the speed.
if its running great now then leave it, if you are talking about the layshaft like dwarthy mentioned then the more teeth the higher the top speed and vice versa.
also you have a tuned engine which gives more power if its healthy so you could go slightly higher if you are into that and are bashing in a large area .it all depends on what you do and where you bash.

Thanks yup that's the gear iam talking about the one around the diff housing. I got 2 different sizes and wasn't quite sure witch one would be better for speed. much appreciated:D
