i won but I can pay the guy off for the amount of the auction and I don't care much for feedback. If its not worth my $635, I would much rather put that dough toward the Baja and be happier in the long run. If that XRC isn't worth a crud, I'd gladly spend $400 more on a baja RTR.

the XRC sells for 650 aussie dollars over here, that should give you some idea of the pricing, as for quality the HPI will be better in the long run and there are way more hopups and spares available - but I wouldn't pay them cash without getting the buggy if you won it. You may as well put this one down to experience

I was going to pay with Paypal. What did you mean I might as well put this one down to experience? Does anyone have any experience with this buggy or am I a guinea pig here? If you someone knows this is junk, I'd much rather get the Baja with the 30cc engine for $1500 or is an mcd better and can I get a 2wd one

You won it right? so you have to pay for it right? you mentioned you'd rather not have it if its crap, well why fork out $600 and get NO buggy (thats what it seems like you are saying - you will give him the cash and not take the buggy off his hands) or is the guy going to refund you the money? you may as well take the buggy and either resell it or use it. By experience I meant next time you may do your homework before you bid, not after.

HPI Bajas come with a 23cc or a 26cc engine, an MCD does not come with any engine at all, if you are looking at a brand new Baja with a 30.5cc its not an original its a clone or its second hand.... beware you get what you pay for

Shouldn't bid on anything if there is any questions, and the fact u don't care about feedback, shows your imature. Ebay is a business, and it has been ruined by people like u who don't care about feedback and bid then back out.

I will give U some credit, u did mention u were going to offer to pay for the auction, but now he has to relist and wait about 7 days for buyers.

Yes I did win, however I can pay him for the cost of the auction, it wasn't like anyone else was going to buy it. I wasn't going to give him 6bills and let him keep it, no point. And I agree I should have done my homework before, but just from past experience, I made the mistake of assuming $600 wasn't much for a 1/5 scale (thinking a real one was at least $2,000) and I didn't expect them to be junk even though they are chinese. Once again another assumption, I have a go-ped with a chinese engine and its run good for years now, I figured these cars wtih a 2 stroke would be a simliar durable drivetrain.

Also I was going to buy it right away, however I made an offer and in the day it took to get it approved I did research instead of just waiting for it to come in the mail and learn my lesson, in which I wouldn't have known any better.

I was refering to the Baja on this website, www.largescalerc.com <--that baja with the 30cc is a clone? Any recomendations for buying elsewhere?

Thanks for the credit, but no thanks. I'm not immature, I am hopped up on pain pills and wasn't thinking when I "made an offer." I've got a collar bone trying to push out of my skin and might not be making the best decisions as I lay on the couch waiting for the dr's to enjoy their holiday so they can cut me up tomorrow.

As far as ruining ebay, yes I am sure I single handedly did that with my bad bid decision. If you could some how support your claim that its "people like me" then I will gladly shutup. Its not like I sit on ebay all day buying crap I can't afford, I use it to shop and was going to buy the car, but did research after purchasing, and hey I didn't pay, why shaft myself for $600 when I don't need to. I'd consider this a cheap and lucky mistake that I did do and can easily get out of.

Mate that is an HPI baja SS, it may help to use the full name as a few mfg's now make "bajas", it comes stock with a CY26cc engine, and it comes in kit form with an HPI tuned pipe. It seems largescalerc are building the kits and selling them as rtr (nothing wrong with that) they appear to offer a few engine and pipe combos over the original and add some radio gear as well.

You should have a lot more fun with that than the XRC thats for sure, the only thing is you may want to get it in kit form as in building it you would learn a lot about the cars construction and how to go about repairing it. But if you are after something to use immediately it looks like a good deal, although I'm not sure on US pricing, I'm in Australia. The only thing is those blokes NEVER return emails, this REALLY shits me and I won't use them anymore - why have an email address and online contact details at all! They never answer your questions - you are better off ringing them, which is not an option for me.

So ur all drugged up and thats the excuse? Wow,Ok, i remove my comments, that makes it OK!!

I see No moa's point here - you bid you pay - them's the rules... but I also see your point of view re being in pain and not thinking straight, I've been extremely fortunate (NOT) and got a bout of gastro 3 days defore christmas, I was in all sorts - yes one doesn't always think straight given pain and medication. I'd say give him the cash for the auction if he'll accept it - if he will you are expremely lucky - personally I wouldn't.
Move on and get yourself that HPI baja, get some photos and video up of you beating the hell out of it - sqeezing that throttle will give you a big smile from ear to ear. Hope your surgery goes well, and welcome to LSF... you had a baptism of fire :2guns: - its all smooth sailing from here :clown:

This is a story about a guy who backs out of an auction from another guy who's selling something nobody likes..... I find that kind of funny and ironic... :)

Yeah it went over fine with the guy, he understood that I'd rather have an Hpi Baja.

Thanks Monaroman, I'm typing with one hand now :p haha
