Hey again.

So, I bought two servos for my 4wd FG sportsline, Hitec HS7954SH for throttle/brake and HS5805MG for steering. Are these servos ok? Second question: I heard that steering servo should be powered with an Y cable, but i don't know why and howbto do that. Can anyone please explain?

I don't know the hitec servos too well.

If you're using 2 steering servos then Yes you do need a Y lead

If you're using a servo for throttle and rear brake and a servo for you front brake you can do this with a Y lead too but it's best if you have channel 3 on your radio for the front brake servo.
 
No, i'm using only one servo for steering and one for throtle/brake. From what i remember it had something to do with power consumption, receivers with BEC... Something like that (can't find where i read this anymore).

You don't need a y lead for running single servos on separate channels. I think you are referring to powering the servos direct from the battery in which case a bec would regulate the power to the servos eg a fully charged battery may give out 6.8v but the bec would only allow a fixed current of 6v to the servos. I am not well up on it but it gives max power to your servos to ensure you get max performance out of them - power can be reduced when directed through the receiver.

Im sure somebody will be along to clarify and give more detail and tech!
 
For part of last year I ran 2 rhinos and 2 of the 20kg savox servos all through my receiver from a 4600mah battery pack with no problems.

Im same as you Mike, no problems through the receiver. I think Al runs his direct to the battery in his MT tho.

Mike must have it right in racing or he's lost the race before he starts.
I think I fried a receiver once, and wasn't certain I'd be getting full power to the twin Rhino steering set-up, so I came across the splitter, which simply plugged the signal lead into the receiver and supplies the full power to the Rhinos - to be honest I'm not certain I noticed any difference, only a lot more wires!!
Then I got a 5Ah LiPo Rx battery, whilst also reading that Rhinos are voltage sensitive - I've no proof, fortunately - so I also added an LRP 6V regulator into the spaghetti!!
That it works is credit to Hobbythek and LRP - I take none!!

I had to locate a much bigger receiver box - easily located after a weekend on Ebay!!

I bought a 4600 mah LiFe rx pack from LRP. From what I'm reading here i should have no problems powering the servos straight from from the receiver.
