Dudes whats going on tonight? I was breaking in my new motor and was doing the the regular 1/4 throttle turtle speed you knopw having a good time. Anyway eveyrone knows how they say that KM and Rovans have cheep plastic parts a-arms and what not. I bumped a sign with my right side not hit bumped and what do you know I bent the front of my chassis. I'm not mad just suprised the plastic didn't break but bending the chassis I've had and HPI that took much bigger hits and nothing but I just bumped a sign and it bent just like that. Are the chassis a cheap tin foil or what not I got to buy a HPI chassis and do another open heart surgery thats going to take 20 hours wish me luck lolol

LOL it just really depends on the hit itself I don't really think you can judge from a lite hit to a big hit from just a brand I have many!!! different brands of rc cars and when I hit something and something breaks I just can not see me saying that now if I was driving brand X and did that hit it would not have broken. They all brake I have beat the heck out of my KM and no I have not bent any chassis they are not made out of tin foil just an unlucky crash but a crash nonetheless. It happens!!!!!!!!!!

yup, ive medium throttle rolled mine, tumbled it, i don't jump it tho, and the only thing ever happened was a lil damage on stock body. the pic in my sig is the woodster i did as gen lee, but thats for show running round if i wanna get on it, i put the stocker back on. oh and btw, other than the stock body damages, nothing else has ever broken or bent.

As for KM's I am pretty sure the Chassis are made out of the same steel that the HPI's are it's all luck of the bounce and where you hit. I have jumped mine pretty high and crashed without frame damage.

ok I know this is going to get you km guys all stirred up so im sorry in advance, I have 3 HPI bajas and 1 KM Baja and yes the chassis and aluminum braces are a lil thinner and weaker than the HPI's. Also the plastic on them is alot more brittle in the cold weather than the HPI's. Hence the price difference, In RC you get what you pay for, You cant honestly think your getting the exact same thing for half the price........Just my opinion which doesn't mean sh*t just saying it how I see it from personal exp.

I have seen VERY well known chassis snap on a light side impact!:o

The manufacturer which i will not name replaced the chassis if the owner never put pictures up on the forums.
It was a good after market chassis with a bottom kick-up brace and their own after market front top brace and it all bent and chassis snapped like it was made of butter!
I think all components have weak points its just finding the right spot really and you found yours.

Please don't assume thier the same because their not!

Thats why you pay half the price for a km than a hpi yes they look very simular but the quality is far apart

Sorry it just didn't seem like there would be a huge difference in steel, my mistake clearly. as for manufacturer I don't really care I just want the best bang for the buck as everyone else does. I just knew going in that I saved $500 buying the KM over the HPI that I could spend on upgrades:)

The difference is Hpi uses aircraft grade 6061 aluminium alloy and where as kingmotors, Rovan ect build their rc's with the most basic aluminium and plastics on the market, this is where the savings are made to customers

Im not knocking clones at all everyone has the right to save afew dollars as its a very expensive hobby its only when people say km ect are as good or better than hpi which is total garbage..

No Kidding

No kidding guys trusy me on this I just bumped it like I said break in speed and bent my Chassis my wife seen it happen. I didn't think or expect it to bend like that I can still drive it but it wants to bank to the left. anyone have a chassis they want to sell for cheap. lol

put in in a vise and bend it back......just don't hit anything because it will bend a lil easier now.

Haven't started the rebuild yet military is keeping me busy along with the wife, Anyone have an extra chassis they want to get rid of?

busted parts

it took just the right hit. simple as that. the parts for these cars all come from the same place. most of them probably from the same factory, same molds, same material. if hpi was making their own parts in their own factory in this country, i could believe what some believe as far as the quality difference is concerned. since it all comes from the little chinaman, i have my doubts.
