why wouldnt one be run on a 2wd, what disadvantage do they offer.
I know in real cars front and rear swaybars are mostly beneficial though some are better with one or the other. But why not on offroad 2wd.
Justin

Don't ask me why but they seem to work on a 4wd off road car. Anti roll bars are a must for a 2wd on road car but they just get in the way and restrict the movement on a 2wd off road car.

This is a huge topic and it could start some good arguments...

I would normally agree with Mike in not 2wd but yes on a 4wd...

I say normally agree as I have the anti roll bar on the front only on my 2wd baja and it has improved it alot for me. got the front and rear together but rear only made it worse so before selling on I thought I would try the front for a laugh only to be surprised to find it worked well..

It does somehow control the grip roll alot and makes it more enjoyable to bash..my bashing is usually a ruff track around trees (racer in me coming out again...)

You know it makes sense lol

Im another 2wd front anti roll bar lover :kiss:
Just finishing my 4wd build so will be trying it without anti roll bars 1st but I have them on my spares box if I feel the need to fit them in the field.

In my opinion its trial & error mate. What works for 1 wont necessarily work for you on your set up, driving style and on the terrain you run on. They are only cheap so if you get a set they only take 2 mins to fit / remove as you see fit and if you don't lie them just ebay em!

I would say give them a try and you can see for yourself what works best.

i use a front ARB on the fg marder/baja but only on tarmac when doing high speed runs and drag racing ,just the straight stuff .The difference is very noticable at high speed, the marder is solid and very stable.
i don't use it when bashing on grass etc,you don't seem to get the full travel of the shocks, and being connected they seem to work more together as a single unit then independantly and to be honest the marders shocks are quite short anyway.
i don't use a rear bar

+100% Mike.
The anti-roll bars restrict movement, particularly on the 2WD.

The 2WD is often 'snappy' at the rear, so fitting the front anti-roll, whilst leaving full movement at the rear firms up the front and can encourage a little 'plough on understeer' whilst the rears maintain grip.

This may, theoretically at least permit a more stable ride.
In practice, .... don't know.

4WD is much less 'snappy', so the sway bars merely permit better traction ....

Something makes sense there, but I reckon there's a contradiction as well.
Whatever, that's basically what I've made of it in the past.
