Was wondering how thing were in the battle for, best 1/5 sct, I also see fg are throwing their hand in but I think the top two at the moment are the LOSI and the w5.
Does any body know if these two have been tested fairly yet, I saw a vid on you tube were two of them were racing in the snow, they were both standard but the mcd was running a 29cc with pipe and the LOSI was its 26cc and standard can,
The LOSI looked far quicker.

both great looking trucks the losi is huge compared to the mcd w5 check out some of my vids on my youtube channel

Great video mate, so come on which is more often the winner with fair engines an which won on the vid.
I was thinking of buying the w5, its a sweet looking body but I heard there are deffinate reliability issues with it and this is from mcd owners, I know the platform of the LOSI as I have had the nitro Hong nors for years and they are the same lay out basicly.
The mcd looks a bit skittish to me.
I owned the mcd v4 comp. And that was fast but crap in the air.

I heard the punisher could give the mcd a run for its money, are they any more reliable than the mcd, they look great value, do you know anything about them.
In the nitro races you normaly get one brand that will stand out a bit more than others in win ratio for what ever reason.
I think time trials are the best way to determine the fastest around a given track.

If I was given the choice of the Losi, MCD and FTX - the FTX would win hands down and even with a half decent driver it'll beat the MCD on reliability and round the track.

I'm having an FG 4wd next year though.

i think you click on my name on the above vid should take you straight to them

Thanks for that info. Mike, they say you know your stuff.
I have a LOSI at the moment but was thinking about the w5, them at Ross mods. Say there is no reliability issues with them and that they race them but too many say there are probs.
Everyone can't be wrong.
I have been talking to nige at freeprawn, he seems very strait, he said the motor that comes with the punisher is not the best but not sh1t either so I think it will be the punisher for my second 1/5th , a pity they're not making an sct version.
So is the punisher a better car than the LOSI for racing mike.

Put them next to each other with similar drivers and it would be a tough call - I think the FTX would be better.

The new FG 4wd truck are based on the Leopard 4 and they will take some beating I'm sure. I've not driven one yet, I'll be having the comp version to race next year but I've been promised one to have a play with at the Euros in July.

Aside from looking like an ageing Yeti, Nige is one of the straightest guys in racing. He was one of the first people I met when I started.

yeah! fg :(, you know i can't see them being a cheap option, if i hadn't already bought the losi 5ive i probably would have had a butchers at them.
Don't they say fg's are a bit fragile, never had one so i don't know,
but i wish i had of known about the ftx before i bought this km 2.0.
Could i ask you one last question mike, what do you think of this newtech sct, just an informed opinion.
cheers simon. :)

Nutech and FTX are one and the same - just called different things in different places - opel, vauxhall, GM blah blah blah.

The FG is one of the best makes I've raced. This 2012 car I've got takes everything I throw at it and I've only every replaces consumables.

Thanks, good to know, have been offered them in the past and just thought they would be to much trouble, so now I am enlightened, lol.
Thanks again simon

Thats a great vid. Isnt it croozer, there were some comments after the video, I really wanted to have a say, but am still waiting to be approved, probably not worth it now.
Which did you like the best round the track, I thought the LOSI edged it, taking into account his higher speed, I thought the LOSI handled better.
How about you.
